I have extensive experience of presenting and of running workshops and thoroughly enjoy connecting with people in this way \u2013 an author’s life can be isolated at times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a member of the Live Literature Database<\/a>, and my attendance at events in Scotland can be subsidised by the Scottish Book Trust. For local groups, and especially voluntary groups, I will speak if my mileage is reimbursed. I am also available to speak via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent speaking engagements have included the Pittenweem Arts Festival, The Three Estates, U3A, Edinburgh Literary Salon and Book Groups. I am happy to tailor workshops and presentations to the group’s requirements. Topics recently have having included the Writing and Editing Process, My Author Journey, Research for Writing Historical Fiction, and Self Publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the The Three Estates<\/em>, Cupar recently where I also presented signed copies of my series to Cupar Library. I did actually let go of the bundle \u2013 eventually.<\/p>\n\n\n

Launch of The Pittenweemers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was very excited to have an in person book launch of The Pittenweemers at Toppings, Booksellers of St.Andrews<\/a>. And delighetd that so many people came \u2013 and bought the book.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pittenweem Arts Festival <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every year since the 1980s the village of Pittenweem on the East Neuk of Fife has held an Arts Festival, where people open their homes for artists to exhibit. I was delighted to be invited to give a talk this year about my book The Pittenweemers in the old church, part of which was being built in 1588 when my book was set.<\/p>\n\n\n

Scottish Association of Writers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In March, the Scottish Association of Writers invited me to judge their Self Published Novel Competition and also to speak about successful indie publishing, which I was honoured to do.<\/p>\n\n\n
